New Yorkers gathering around Sing for Hope Pianos to share song across the five boroughs
In honor of Sing for Hope's 25th Anniversary, we're celebrating a quarter-century of creative impact by placing 25 artist-designed Sing for Hope Pianos across New York City's five boroughs for Sing for Hope Pianos NYC: 2026. For every year we've spent harnessing the power of the arts to create a better world, a new playable masterpiece will be activated within our city's parks and public spaces.
To bring these vibrant works of art to life, we invite you to NYC SINGS, a citywide invitation to step out of the daily rush and into a moment of shared joy. On May 30–31 and June 6–7, Sing for Hope Pianos NYC: 2026 serves as the backdrop for a five-borough celebration, transforming public spaces into places of belonging through the power of collective song.
NYC SINGS will be activating the Sing for Hope Pianos at a selection of the city's most beloved parks and public spaces across all five boroughs. Come and sing along with Sing for Hope Artist Partners Bobby Harden, Simón Gómez Villegas, and Annie Chen.
After hosting group singing sessions throughout New York City, we've seen how a simple song helps us connect with one another, bringing neighbors and strangers together in a collective moment of joy.
NYC SINGS is your invitation to be part of that transformation. Join us at a Sing for Hope Piano for artist-led singalongs designed for everyone. Whether you are a lifelong singer or haven't sung a note in years, come as you are and feel the energy of the city singing with you.

they/all
Simón Gómez Villegas is a musician and writer from Bogotá, Colombia. Blending musical theatre with cinematic pop and Americana, Simón makes art that "transforms the mundane into magic." They've served at a dinner theater in Alaska, worked backstage in Appalachia, and actively perform in almost every borough of NYC (still looking for a Staten Island gig). They've worn different hats at Mercury Store, The TEAM, Ars Nova, Musical Theater Factory, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, the Perelman Arts Center, and the American Repertory Theatre.
Annie Chen is a vocalist, composer, and bandleader from Beijing, based in New York since 2013. Drawing on musical traditions from Asia, Europe, and the Americas, her work weaves together jazz, blues, and funk with a fearlessly eclectic, cross-cultural vision. She has performed at prestigious venues across NYC and China, from the Blue Note to the Shanghai International Jazz Festival, and released three critically acclaimed albums — Pisces the Dreamer (2014), Secret Treetop (2018), and Guardians (2024), the last of which passed the first round of Grammy nominations for Best Alternative Jazz Album. A dedicated educator, she also produces masterclasses and media connecting Chinese audiences to New York's vibrant jazz scene.
