Reflections of Egypt
About the Piano
This piano is a collaborative effort by over 2 dozen artists and staff members from United Cerebral Palsy of New York City. Manhattan artists learned about Egyptian Art in their Art History Classes, and generated their design with the help of UCP Teaching Artists.
About the Artist
UCP of NYC has 4 full-time Art Specialists who work with hundreds of artists with disabilities in Staten Island, Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx. This year's piano design was originally generated by artists in our Manhattan locations, who have been studying Egyptian art. This is the 3rd time that artists from UCP of NYC have painted Sing for Hope Pianos. Our artists have had recent shows at the Port Authority, Prince Edward Gallery, the St. George branch of the NY Public Library and Flushing Town Hall.
