About the piano
Location: Brooklyn Navy Yard Building 92, 63 Flushing Ave, Brooklyn, NY Hours: 7AM - 7PM Click here for full map of all Sing for Hope Piano locations. The “Creatures” piano concept is centered on the power of the imagination. What starts here with an organic splatter of paint is given suggested forms that are open to interpretation. My goal is that children and adults alike will engage with the imagery, open themselves up to looking beyond the obvious and invent their own “creatures.” The visual is meant to be a fun and inviting spectacle that sparks curiosity, and encourages people to share ideas about their interpretations of the work. I love the idea of total strangers discussing whether the design is a bug or a beast, a face or a fairy, and walking away with the notion that there is no wrong answer.
