THE LAB Benefit Tour for Sing for Hope

Donor Artist Melanie Edwards Tours to Raise Funds and Awareness for Sing for Hope

Singer/songwriter Melanie Edwards learned about Sing for Hope through our Street Pianos installation that brought 60 upright pianos to the streets of New York City from June 21 to July 5.  The Street Pianos inspired her to use her time and talent to raise funding an awareness for Sing for Hope’s programs that benefit schools, hospitals and communities.  Melanie is a self-proclaimed “musical scientist”.  She explains that her musical “lab” is “a place where [she] can test a series of challenges or questions, and pontificate the conclusions, except [she is] using [her] keyboard and violin as a microscope to further engage in these life obstacles and inquiries to derive some sort of result.”

This summer, Melanie goes on tour throughout the South and will raise funding and awareness for Sing for Hope along the way!  Having just released her debut EP BETWEEN THE BINARY on iTunes, and having completed a residency at the renowned Living Room: Googie’s Lounge in New York City, Melanie is taking her musical lab to venues including those in Austin, T.X., Washington, D.C., Wilmington, N.C. and Raleigh, N.C..  The first stop on THE LAB TOUR is Edwards’s former stomping ground of Austin, T.X. where she will open for Austin marvel Abra Moore at Momo’s Lounge on July 22 at 6:30 p.m..  10% of Melanie’s sales revenue from the tour will benefit Sing for Hope.
