About Sing for Hope Healing Arts Bedside Performances:
Healing Arts brings live performance to patients in healthcare facilities, with special focus on elder care, rehabilitative, and palliative care facilities. Sing for Hope artists offer solo, ensemble and collaborative performances and workshops in patients’ rooms and in group recreation areas, tailoring performances to patients’ and care-givers’ needs. These performances provide the gift of therapeutic music, complementing the healing process and providing respite, entertainment, and uplift for patients, families and caregivers.
For Donor Artists:
Never performed in a hospital before? Here’s some basic information for you to give you a clearer idea of what happens during this life-enhancing experience. Because the Sing for Hope Healing Arts program consists of individual performances in patients’ rooms, it is best suited for musicians with portable instruments and singers who enjoy performing a capella. When choosing material, please keep in mind the nature of your hospital audience. Positive, uplifting, and generally peaceful selections will resonate most meaningfully for your listeners here; you are providing the gift of therapeutic music for people who greatly benefit from it. A Sing for Hope Project Leader familiar with the medical facility will be be there to oversee the room-to-room musical programming and interface with patients and hospital staff. He/she is there to support you, and in general be a resource for you within the hospital performance environment.
